isn’t quite finished but…I decided to move him into it anyway because…1) I’m tired of sleeping in the red/yellow room and crawling in and out of bed ’cause of the vaulted ceilings…love the room but not with our bed in it! 2) (which kind of goes to #1)…I wanted our room back!!! It’s been 9 months since we slept in there/since we moved in and even longer since we’ve had our very own room ’cause before that we shared with Iain (not that I minded but…it’s nice not to have to tiptoe around) 3) he’s awesome and totally deserves his very own room and 4) the only time we can work on his room is while he’s awake anyway so…there’s no reason he can’t just sleep in there since the floor is done and there’s not much left to do.
Iain loves it! We knew that already. He slept in there last night and did pretty well…a couple minutes of screaming when he first went down ’cause he didn’t want to sleep in that room…he wanted to play! Haha. But…he went to sleep and slept straight through. He woke up screaming but…honestly…he does that every morning anyway…’cause he hates his diaper so I don’t think that’s room related. I went in to get him this morning…turned on his light…opened the curtain of one of his windows and he gave me the biggest smile. Well worth the work 🙂 That’s the thing…his room might be taking a while but it’s sooooo worth it because it’s coming out beautiful. We didn’t just go in…paint it and say…”here ya go”…we took our time and it’s going to be perfect 🙂
Our room needs some attention, now. The shell is finished (carpet, paint, etc) but…we need some curtains for our windows…we need to re-stain our bed and figure out the layout. It’s definitely not a big room but…I don’t sleep in big rooms…they make me nervous while I’m trying to get to sleep. Too many places for monsters and scary people to hide. I love our little room and can’t wait to see it all set up but…for now…I’m just happy to be sleeping in there. The rest will come with time.
Iain and I played up in his room for a bit (and of course pictures and a video were taken). I’m trying to get him used to the idea that the room itself doesn’t mean sleep…being in his crib means sleep. Because I’d like to be able to play in there but still put him to sleep in there. Anyway…I think his favorite part this morning was the basket that Bryan and Becca got us for our baby shower…haha. He had great fun with it. He’s a little strange and totally adorable!!
