Wednesday, we went out shopping at the mall mostly just to walk around but also because Iain needed a new pair of shoes. He finally wore out the Velcro of his last pair so we decided to go with tie-ons this time because I’m tired of shoes falling off him and he’s surprisingly patient about having shoes put on…I think because he knows it means we’re goin’ places…haha. It got to the point that even he was used to losing his shoes. A shoe would fall off…he’d just quickly pick it up and carry it. Most of the time I wouldn’t even realize until he held it up for me to put it back on him. Luckily…we never lost them…haha. Got to the annoying point so we bought him a new pair that are even cuter than the last pair and stay on!
They fit him much better, too. Not that he’d really outgrown the last ones but these are 5-1/2 wide instead of medium width. He likes them a lot and they look really cute 🙂 They are not for playing in the mud outside, though. For that he still has his old brown ones that stay on but aren’t too nice looking. We also got him a new t-shirt…which is quite odd for us. Haha…we usually get him clothes at the consignment shop because you can get brand new with tags stuff their for way cheaper and his grandparents but him a lot of clothes too…which is always nice 🙂 What I’m having difficulty finding are spring pants. He’s grown out of most of his pants because they were all 12 M and he’s 18 M size now so I’m looking for new ones that he can wear in the spring when it’s just not warm enough for shorts. Oh well…I’m sure I’ll find them. I find it funny that you have to buy entirely new wardrobes for every season ’cause kids grow so much. I knew we’d have to…but it’s weird actually doing it.We also finally got around to spending some of his birthday/christmas money Iain got from my grandma that we’ve been meaning to…well…since he got it. We picked up a pit stop play rug…

for his bedroom. Ok…so it’s currently set up in the living room because the carpet in his bedroom still needs to be kicked in but…as soon as his room’s done which should be this week!!!! it’ll be going in there. He loves all the little cars…he’s too cute!
He’s also sick right now with a cold or something…no fever…so that’s good but he’s got an icky cough and runniness…not fun.
We went to the consignment shop today and picked Iain up a bunch of clothes. I’m pretty fussy when it comes to consignment stuff…has to look new but be cheap…easier to find than I thought. People bring some nice stuff there with tags and everything still on them…brand new for a quarter of the price. Pretty cool. We got him a floral Old Navy shirt (which I probably shouldn’t call floral but…that’s really what it is…but…due to the fact that that’s the only way to explain it and I don’t want people thinking we got him some prissy Hawaiian shirt…here’s a picture of it…see…floral but not prissy 🙂 ) brand new with tags for nothing. Ok…just happy with our finds. You might have to “dig” a little but you find great stuff and there’s a little play area for Iain to play in with Jim while I shop…every store should have that!
